Invoicing and Payments

Standing behind our commitment to provide you with quality services at affordable rates, we keep our pricing clear and simple.

We accept all of the major credit cards (e.g., MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Visa) as well as PayPal. We do not accept cash, personal checks, money orders, or cashier's checks. Payment is due at the time of booking and must be submitted by way of the Gateway ESL website. No payments should ever be given to a tutor. Gateway ESL tutors are not authorized to accept payments from clients. A payment confirmation email will be sent to you after payment has been received.

We are aware that both financial and personal circumstances can be unpredictable and can quickly change without notice. Sometimes unexpected situations occur and unplanned things happen. So, unlike other companies, we don't try to lock you into lengthy annual contracts. You can stop making appointments when you no longer require our tutoring services rather than paying for a year's worth of sessions that you will not attend.

Payment Policies

Online and In-Person Tutoring

Private tutoring, both online and in-person, is priced at $24 per session. The standard time length for all online and in-person tutoring sessions is one (1) hour. Full payment is due at the time of booking. Payments are only accepted through the Gateway ESL website and are processed by our office at the close of business each day. You may prebook multiple sessions that will occur on different days and times by selecting the available dates and times on our booking page. New Students GET 40% OFF if they use the WELCOME40 promo code when registering.

Group Tutoring

A standard group size consists of five (5) people. The standard time length for all group tutoring sessions is no greater than one (1) hour and thirty (30) minutes. If you desire to book a group tutoring session requiring more than one (1) hour and thirty (30) minutes of time, then you must book two (2) sessions. Each group tutoring session is charged at exactly $25 per student. All group tutoring sessions must be booked on a per-session basis. Full payment is due at the time of booking. Payments are only accepted through the Gateway ESL website and are processed by the close of business each day. All payments are nonrefundable. You may prebook sessions in advance by selecting the available dates and times on our booking page. Clients are responsible for ensuring that each group participant is present for group tutoring session(s).

Certificate Courses

Chatwell

Chatwell Conversational English is a 6-week ESL certificate course that meets online two (2) times per week for one (1) hour and thirty (30) minutes. The cost of the course is $225. Full payment is due at the time of booking. Payments are only accepted through the Gateway ESL website and are processed by the close of business each day. Maximum occupancy is 30 students per class. Enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis and continues until all spaces are filled. A waiting list will be provided when maximum occupancy is reached. *New Students GET 20% OFF if they use CHAT20 promo code when they enroll.

BetterSpeak

BetterSpeak American Accent Training is a 6-week oral training course that is specifically focused on giving you close personal instruction to help you develop a clear American English accent with a standard non-regional dialect. The cost of the class is $225. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Full payment is due at the time of booking. Payments are only accepted through the Gateway ESL website. Maximum occupancy is 20 students per class. If you desire to book a session requiring more than the allotted class time, then you must book an additional class. *New Students GET 15% OFF if they use the CLEARACCENT15 promo code when they enroll.

Gateway CitizenPrep

The Gateway CitizenPrep Citizenship Test Preparation class is a FREE non-credit course that prepares English learners for the USCIS Citizenship Test. Gateway CitizenPrep is a two (2) hour class that meets one (1) time per week for twenty-four (24) weeks. You may register for Gateway CitizenPrep on the Services page of our website. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Maximum occupancy is 20 students. per 24-week session.

FREE Classes

No Miscellaneous Fees

As stated in our Gateway 3P Guarantee, we do not charge any miscellaneous fees for any of our services. This includes, but is not limited to, admission fees, application fees, registration fees, assessment fees, processing fees, advertising fees, equipment fees, and banking fees.

Cancellations

All cancellation requests must be submitted to Gateway ESL at least twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled session. Your prompt cancellation enables us to alter our tutors' schedules as necessary. We kindly ask that you call or send us a message at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance if you need to cancel a session. A $25 cancellation fine will be charged to the card on file for any cancellations made less than twenty-four (24) hours before the booked session. If you fail to inform us of your cancellation, you will be charged the full amount for the session.
